چکیده

Although the use of modulator treatments targeting basal defect in Cystic Fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator improves lung function and is associated with reduced burden infections, we have not seen bacterial eradication, thus antibiotic remain crucial for chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. Recent investigations shown large zones oxygen (O2) depletion infected part CF lungs due to consumption O2 by surrounding neutrophils, where aerobic respiration prevented. The restriction causes uptake antibiotics, down-regulation targets inhibited induction bactericidal amounts reactive species as P. aeruginosa. By enhancing physiology bacteria through adjuvant treatment normobaric (NBOT), can be sensitized, even clones, protected depletion, treated. We hypothesize that intermittent oxygenation (100% O2) has a beneficiary clinical impact on During first 7 out 14 days standard care treatment, one group persons (pwCF) (n = 16) will receive NBOT an oronasal mask or transparent hood 90 minutes constant flow 30 L/min [FR1] once daily. Another pwCF continue without setup. primary endpoints changes survival (CFU/mL) sputum, decreased recognized trial endpoint studies anti-infectives CF. Secondary function, production sputum neutrophils sputum. present study-plan provide proof-of-concept advantageous adults pwCF.

Antibiotics in Cystic Fibrosis.

IN cystic fibrosis the main problem is the susceptibility of the children to respiratory infection. The clinical course of the untreated case is one of repeated respiratory infections followed by persistent pulmonary sepsis, and later death. Severe attacks may occur in the first weeks or months of life, or less commonly, years may pass with no, or minimal symptoms referable to the chest. Upper ...

Endotoxaemia in cystic fibrosis: response to antibiotics.

In a study of 6 children with cystic fibrosis receiving intravenous antibiotics for pseudomonas lung infection, serum endotoxin values were monitored by a modification of the limulus lysate technique. The values fell with treatment, reflecting a response that was not always apparent on clinical assessment. Endotoxin concentrations may offer a more precise way of monitoring the effects of antibi...

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy as an adjuvant treatment for pyoderma gangrenosum.

Pyoderma Gangrenosum is a rare neutrophilic dermatosis of skin and subcutaneous tissue characterized by a painful and progressive necrotizing process. The management of pyoderma gangrenosum often requires systemic drug therapy, such as corticosteroids, sulfones or immunosuppressants, either alone or in combination. Several reports in the literature document the successful treatment of pyoderma ...

Aerosol antibiotics in cystic fibrosis.

Chronic airways infection and inflammation is the greatest source of morbidity and mortality in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Many organisms can be found in the lower respiratory tract of CF patients, but infection with mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa is common, is associated with poorer outcomes, and is the main target for antimicrobial strategies in CF. Aerosol antibiotics achieve high local c...

Silastic catheters for antibiotics in cystic fibrosis.

A randomised comparison of percutaneous Silastic catheters and conventional intravenous cannulae for giving intravenous antibiotics in patients with cystic fibrosis showed that Silastic catheters were favoured by the patient, lasted longer, and had fewer complications.
